A court in Peru sentenced former Peruvian President Pedro Castillo to more than 11 years in prison on Thursday. In a two-to-one vote, the Special Criminal Chamber of Peru’s Supreme Court found him guilty of attempting to dissolve Congress and assume extraordinary powers in 2022.
