
Parts of Telangana forecast to receive rain on Sunday; 41°C - 44°C may be recorded in 13 northern districts

IMD forecasts thunderstorms in 16 Telangana districts, while 13 districts in the north may see temperatures of 41-44°C on Sunday (April 20, 2025)
This Sunday (April 20, 2025), half of Telangana might receive thunderstorms accompanied with lightning. India Meteorological Department has forecast the weather conditions in 16 districts. While rain is anticipated in a large parts of the State, 13 districts in the north were forecast to record temperatures ranging from 41°C to 44°C.
The 16 districts which may receive thunderstorms are Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajigiri and Nagarkurnool.
The 13 districts which were forecast to record 41°C to 44°C. are Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Manchedrial, Jagtial, Nizamabad, Pedapalli, Jayashanakar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Nirmal, Karimnagar, Rajanna Sircilla, Kamareddy and Medak.
On Friday (April 18, 2025), though Hyderabad received heavy rain with strong winds, the maximum temperature recorded in the city was 38.6°C. The highest temperature of 42.6 was in Nizamabad, followed by 41.3°C in Adilabad and 40.2°C in Medak.
