Doha, Qatar: The executive office of the council of ministers of Labor and Social Affairs of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states held a panel discussion on Tuesday titled: Sustainability of the Gulf Theatrical Festival for Persons with Disabilities.

The discussion was held on the sidelines of the 7th session hosted by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Family in Doha.

Director-General of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Ministers of Labour and Ministers of Social Affairs in the GCC states, Mohammed bin Hassan Al Obaidli, attended the session alongside heads of the Gulf delegations participating in the 7th edition of the festival, chairperson of the jury committee and faculty member in the theater arts program at Community College, director Saad Burshid, as well as several participating officials, administrators and artists from persons with disabilities (PWDs).

The seminar tackled ideas and visions that aim to advance the festival and ensure its sustainability, in the quest for achieving the objectives for which it was established, with the participants underscoring their commitment to supporting this vital cultural event to highlight the inherent talents of PWDs and include them in the Gulf cultural and art scene.

The generated recommendations and suggestions, pertinent to enhancing the theatrical festival and ensuring its durability will be submitted to the meeting of the ministers of social affairs committee in GCC states in their upcoming meeting, including plans of enhancing support, expanding the community's partnership base, and encouraging creative initiatives, to be further discussed and endorsed within the council's future plans.
