Overzealous Diamondbacks fan forces umpire review for fourth straight season
NY Post
One Diamondbacks fan just can’t stop wreaking havoc from the outfield stands at Chase Field.
The same fan has been involved in umpire reviews in four straight seasons, Jomboy Media found, each time after reaching over the fence from his seats in left-center field to grab a potential home run.
The most recent incident, during the Diamondbacks’ 4-2 win over the Giants on Monday night, was the most egregious of all.
San Francisco outfielder Christian Koss launched a fly ball deep into left-center in the eighth inning while trailing 3-2, and as Arizona outfielder Tim Tawa leaped up in an effort to make a catch at the wall, the fan stuck his glove over the fence and snatched the ball.
The play was ruled an out for fan interference at first, but it was ultimately deemed that the fan did not interfere with Tawa, who was not in a position to make the catch.
Koss ended up with a double, but the fan was ejected from the ballpark nonetheless.

SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
