Over 5.6 lakh students appear for Intermediate Public Examinations 2025 in A.P.

Over 5.6 lakh students appeared for Intermediate Public Examinations 2025 in Andhra Pradesh with 96.41% attendance.

The 1,535 exam centres set up across Andhra Pradesh for Intermediate Public Examinations 2025 resonated with hushed whispers of Intermediate first-year students who huddled for a last-minute revision of the important points on Saturday (March 1, 2025). Students, most of them with their parents in tow, reached their respective centres well in advance as a precautionary measure. The exam was held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Of the total 5,62,574 registered students (including general and vocational categories), 5,42,368 appeared for the exam, while 20,204 students were absent, registering an attendance percentage of 96.41.

In the general category, of the 5,16,163 students registered, 5,00,595 showed up for the exam, registering 96.98% attendance. In vocational category, of the total 4,64,11 registered students, 4,17,73 appeared for the test, registering a 90.01% attendance.

A statement issued by the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) said that two cases of malpractice were reported on the first day of the examination. The first-year students are writing their final exams from March 1 to March 19, 2025, while the second-year exams are scheduled from March 2 to March 20.

The examinations for Intermediate first and second-year students are being held alternately—one day for the first year and the next day for the second-year students. Exams for the main subjects will be completed on March 13 for the first-year students and on March 15, for the second-year students.

For the last four days of the examinations (minor subjects), a few centres have been set up and the number of students appearing would be only around 1,000 across the State.

A person from the Health Department has been appointed at every exam centre with medical kits and the Chief Superintendents of Examination centres have been told to allow the students into the examination halls 30 minutes before the exam time, to prevent last-minute crowding.
