Over 130,000kg Indian mangoes sold as exhibition concludes at Souq Waqif

Doha, Qatar: The Second Al Hamba Exhibition for Indian Mango and its Products, held at the Eastern Square of Souq Waqif in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of India, concluded yesterday, June 21, 2025. 

Over its ten-day run, the distinctive event witnessed a wide public turnout, attracting more than 114,400 visitors. Mango sales surpassed 130,100 kilograms, outperforming the figures of the previous edition, the organisers announced in a statement. 

Organizers affirmed that all mango varieties were specially imported for this event via daily direct air freight from India, to ensure the provision of fresh and high-quality fruits that meet visitors' expectations. The exhibits included a wide range of the most famous varieties such as Alphonso, Kesar, Badami, in addition to 55 types of fresh Indian mangoes, all exhibited in one place.

Khalid Saif Al-Suwaidi, the general supervisor of the exhibition, stated that the second edition witnessed a great turnout that exceeded expectations, as the exhibition recorded over 114,000 visitors, and more than 130,000 kilograms of mangoes were sold. He praised the excellent organization by the Souq Waqif management.

Al-Suwaidi added that one of the most prominent features of this year's exhibition was the presence of a laboratory affiliated with the Ministry of Public Health, which daily examined random samples of the displayed mangoes to ensure their safety and quality. This embodies the organizing committee's keenness on visitors' health and product safety.
