Growing up in Canada, Michael Bociurkiw had fond memories of a picture sketched by his father of his native Ukraine in 1950. Now, amid Russia's invasion, the artwork has taken on new significance -- and is part of a life-changing decision to relocate closer to the front line.
The picture of a quaint village was based on Bohdan Bociurkiw's memories of living in western Ukraine as a student and scholar, shortly after he left a refugee camp in Europe and migrated to Canada in 1947.
