
Opinion: Biden's federal gas tax holiday is a terrible idea

The federal gas tax holiday proposal is ill-considered, writes former Pennsylvania lawmaker Charlie Dent. Why, he asks, would President Biden deplete for three months the revenue generated by the 18.4 cent-per -gallon tax that funds infrastructure projects throughout the country?
The Democrats contended these two oilmen led an administration too friendly to the oil and gas industry and initiated a war of choice in Iraq to serve those interests. Predictably, there were calls for suspending the 18.4-cent- per gallon federal gasoline tax.

President Donald Trump’s suggestion Tuesday that his Board of Peace “might” replace the United Nations is likely to compound concerns that the body meant to oversee the reconstruction of Gaza – and that he will indefinitely chair – will instead become a vehicle for him to attempt to supersede the body established 80 years ago to maintain global peace.
