Pakistan has hit several military targets in Srinagar, Bhuj, Chandigarh, Uttarlai, Ludhiana and Falaudi on the intervening night of May 7, 2025 and May 8, 2025 the Ministry of External Affairs said in a press briefing on Thursday (May 8, 2025). “The debris of these attacks are being recovered now,” the Ministry said.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, along with Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, confirmed that air defence systems were hit in Pakistan. “This morning Indian forces hit air defence systems in Pakistan. An air defence system in Lahore was hit,” the Ministry said during the briefing. The Ministry also said that Pakistan has increased the intensity of unprovoked firing in Uri sector.
Meanwhile Mr. Misri said that The Resistance Front (TRF) claimed the terror attack in Pahalgam not once but twice on April 22, 2025 and April 23, 2025. He also called Pakistan the “epicentre of global terrorism” and said that their demand for a neutral investigation into the attack a “delaying tactic”.
He said that 16 civilians have been killed in Pakistan shelling along the LoC, adding that Pakistan also attacked a gurdwara in Poonch, in which Sikh community members were killed.

He said that any further escalation by Pakistan is an escalation and will be responded to appropriately. Further, he dismissed allegations that India targeted Neelam-Jhelam dam and called it a “complete fabrication”.
