
OnePlus, AMD and MSI are the latest tech companies to cancel CES 2022 physical events

As the organising committee gears up for the CES 2022 that is scheduled to kickstart within the next week, tech majors are backing out of an on-ground presence at the event due to the health and safety concerns for their employees.
Raising doubts yet again on the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022, more companies have backed out of the on-ground event. Technology majors have been wary of a physical presence at the world's biggest consumer technology show, scheduled to kickstart on January 4, on account of the increasing spread of the Covid-19 Omicron variant. Adding to this list is now OnePlus, MSI as well as AMD.
In a statement, chipmaker AMD clarified that it will not be attending the CES 2022 in Las Vegas. Instead, it will have a virtual presence at the event to showcase its products. AMD stated that the switch is in the "best interest" of the health of everyone involved. As mentioned in a report by CNET, AMD will still hold its announcements scheduled for January 4, as part of its now, digital-only plans.

Reddit is exploring biometric verification methods such as Face ID and Touch ID to ensure users are real humans, not bots, while pledging to maintain the platform's tradition of anonymity. CEO Steve Huffman said the company is planning to address the rising influence of AI-generated content and protect authentic user engagement.
