Author Amish Tripathi reacted to the row over the Kaali poster and Mahua Moitra’s statement on Goddess Kali and said one can question a religion without being insulting. He stated that "one-way disrespect to religions" is causing issues in the country.
Author Amish Tripathi, reacted to the controversy surrounding a poster and remarks on goddess Kali, and said "one-way disrespect to religions" is causing issues in the country. Certain religions are treated with extreme disrespect, whereas some religions are treated with extreme respect, he said.
"The controversy began with some poster in Canada where Ma Kali was shown smoking. To be honest, I don't know what meat-eating has to do with smoking. I thought they are completely different issues," Tripathi said, referring to the comments made by TMC's Mahua Moitra.

"In the West, Christianity is attacked very aggressively but not so much the other religions. In India, the religion being attacked aggressively is Hinduism. I believe the one-way disrespect is causing all the issues," he added.
