The accused was a member of a six-member team of poachers and he was taken into custody while they were hunting a male gaur, aged around eight years, inside the sanctuary around 2 a.m. on Monday, sanctuary sources said. Though the accused was overpowered and taken into custody by a team of Forest officials, who were patrolling near the area, his five accomplices fled from the scene.
