On New Year's Eve, Delhi's Daily Covid Cases Jump 36% To 7-Month High

On New Year's eve, Delhi saw a big jump in coronavirus cases with 1,796 fresh infections - a massive jump of 36 per cent compared to yesterday's cases (1,313). 

The surge in cases nationwide is believed to be driven by Omicron variant, said to be much more contagious.
