Omar says she supports adding a 'reality-based' Republican to January 6 committee
CNN
Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar said Tuesday that she would support adding a "reality-based" Republican to the select committee being established by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to investigate the January 6 insurrection.
Asked by CNN's Jake Tapper on "The Lead" about the possibility of Pelosi appointing a GOP lawmaker to the panel, Omar said, "I certainly believe that the goal was always to make sure that this was a bipartisan effort. The American people are interested in finding out, as much as we are, what the truth is -- what led to the insurrection and what took place as part of that insurrection on January 6." "And so if the speaker believes that she can find Republicans that are reality-based, that will engage in fact-finding, that can be trusted by the American people, then I support it," the Minnesota Democrat said.More Related News
