OG Anunoby’s unreal plus-minus making ‘life a lot easier’ for Knicks
NY Post
In the context of the NBA’s history, plus-minus is relatively new.
It was first tracked in the 1996-97 season, and the king of the stat is Tim Duncan, who never stopped winning with the Spurs and finished with an exact plus 10,000 for his career.
It’s a good indicator of impact and addresses the important question: how much is the team outscoring, or getting outscored, with a specific player on the court?
With OG Anunoby, the answer is emphatically — very emphatically — on the plus side.
Since he arrived on the roster at the start of 2024, the Knicks have outscored teams by 239 points in Anunoby’s 467 minutes, according to NBA.com.
It represents the best plus-minus for a player through his first 13 games with a new team since the tracking started, per Elias Sports Bureau.

SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
