In a letter written to PM Modi, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik has urged him to withdraw the "restrain order" on lifting of the surplus parboiled rice from the state in the upcoming Kharif Marketing Season (KMS) 2021-22.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to withdraw the "restrain order" on lifting of the estimated surplus parboiled rice from the state in the upcoming Kharif Marketing Season (KMS) 2021-22.
CM Patnaik in his letter has mentioned that non- lifting of the above quantity of surplus parboiled rice from the state due to the restrictions imposed by Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD) has the potential of severely affecting the state’s paddy procurement operations and will affect about 10 lakh farmers in the state.
