Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik slashes VAT on petrol, diesel by Rs 3

The Odisha government announced the reduction of Value-Added Tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel by Rs 3.

A day after the Centre slashed excise duty on fuel, the Odisha government announced the reduction of Value-Added Tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel by Rs 3. The decision was announced by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday. The new prices will be applicable from midnight of November 5.

"This is over and above the reduction in excise duty announced by the Government of India," said an official statement by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).
