New York Police Department investigators are looking for a 31-year-old man they believe to be the shooter who left three people injured in Times Square over the weekend, according to two law enforcement officials.
The law enforcement officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation, say the man intended to shoot his brother when he opened fire on Saturday, injuring a 4-year-old girl from Brooklyn and two female tourists. All three are now out of the hospital and "it looks like they'll make a strong recovery," New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said Monday at a news conference.
Janet Mills and her allies are counting on a gender gap to narrow Platner’s wide lead ahead of the June 9 primary to decide who will face incumbent Republican Sen. Susan Collins. They are betting that the unfiltered style that has brought Platner widespread attention as someone who could help Democrats reach young men will backfire with women.

As a shrinking number of Transportation Security Administration agents work to keep hourslong security lines moving despite not being paid, President Donald Trump stepped into the fray Saturday, announcing he will send Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers to airports by Monday if Congress doesn’t agree to a plan to end the partial government shutdown.
