NYC expands migrant shelter curfew following violent incidents
Fox News
New York City says an overnight migrant shelter curfew will be expanded to 20 more locations following recent violent incidents in Times Square.
One of the shelters in Long Island City, Queens, houses nearly 1,000 migrants, and the curfews began last month in response to neighborhood complaints, The Associated Press reported. Greg Norman is a reporter at Fox News Digital.
"New York City continues to lead the nation in managing this national humanitarian crisis, and that includes prioritizing the health and safety of both asylum seekers in our care and New Yorkers who live in the communities surrounding the emergency shelters we manage," Mamelak said in a statement to the AP.
