A National Security Agency review of its intercepts did not find any evidence that Fox News host Tucker Carlson's communications were intercepted by the NSA, two sources familiar with the matter told CNN.
Carlson had claimed that the agency was spying on him and planned to leak his communications to take him off air. One of the sources said that Carlson's name was picked up in third-party communications and his identity was unmasked, meaning others mentioned him in their communications. In the NSA foreign intelligence reports, the names of Americans are redacted, or "masked." Certain authorized US officials have the authority to request the names of those individuals if they have a justifiable reason.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth risked compromising sensitive military information that could have endangered US troops through his use of Signal to discuss attack plans, a Pentagon watchdog said in an unclassified report released Thursday. It also details how Hegseth declined to cooperate with the probe.

Two top House lawmakers emerged divided along party lines after a private briefing with the military official who oversaw September’s attack on an alleged drug vessel that included a so-called double-tap strike that killed surviving crew members, with a top Democrat calling video of the incident that was shared as part of the briefing “one of the most troubling things” he has seen as a lawmaker.
