Residents of Callander, Ont., south of North Bay, are being asked by provincial police to avoid the area of Highway 11 and Highway 654 on Saturday.
Residents of Callander, Ont., south of North Bay, are being asked by provincial police to avoid the area of Highway 11 and Highway 654 on Saturday.
“North Bay OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) are advising the public to please avoid the area … due to an ongoing investigation,” said police on social media.
“There are no concerns for public safety at this time.”
Few details are known at this time, however, OPP confirmed to CTV News that there is an increased police presence in the municipality’s south end as a result of an investigation.
Police are asking the public to avoid the area to allow officers to conduct the investigation.
"Please report any suspicious activity to the OPP," said police.
