Fox News
Doug Larsen, the North Dakota Republican state senator who died over the weekend in a plane crash, hoped to work for a major airline, a report says.
"He gave me a hug and we said we loved each other – and said, ‘Stay safe,’" Larsen’s sister, Peggy Steimel, told the AP, describing the final conversation she had with him before he boarded the plane to return home after visiting her in Scottdale, Arizona, as part of a sendoff for Steimel’s upcoming deployment overseas with the Arizona National Guard. Greg Norman is a reporter at Fox News Digital.
Steimel said it was the first time Larsen – a former Black Hawk helicopter pilot in the North Dakota National Guard – and his family had flown the plane to visit her in Scottsdale.
