Noah Syndergaard ‘right where he needs to be’ after first Mets rehab outing
NY Post
ATLANTA – As the Mets search for healthy pitchers to fill their rotation, one potential upgrade took a significant step toward returning Wednesday.
Noah Syndergaard, in his first minor league rehab appearance since undergoing Tommy John surgery nearly 14 months ago, fired four shutout innings for Single-A St. Lucie in Jupiter, Fla. The right-hander allowed one hit and struck out six batters. According to a scout at the game, Syndergaard’s fastball sat in the 93-95 mph range. Syndergaard also showed his curveball, changeup and cutter.
SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
