Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said that the children who belong to the age group of 15-18 will not be allowed in the schools (when reopen) if they will not be vaccinated against COVID-19.
The decision was taken in a review meeting where the officials discussed the COVID-19 situation prevailing in the state. According to an official statement, "During the meeting, the health minister urged all the parents of children between 15 to 18 years of age to get their wards vaccinated at the earliest, as when the schools open, those who have not been vaccinated will not be allowed to enter the school."
As per the official data, more than 15 lakh children, in the state, are eligible for taking vaccination against COVID-19. The vaccination drive for children has started on January 3 this year.
In the meeting, Vij confirmed the appointment of two nodal officers who will be responsible to oversee arrangements in government as well as private hospitals respectively. The officers will communicate to the state government regarding the hospital arrangements.
