Nick Carter sued Melissa Schuman for $2.5 million, claiming the singer falsely accused him of rape. Schuman originally sued Carter in 2023 and alleged the singer raped her in 2003.

Carter's legal team painted Schuman's accusations as a "plot to smear" the "I Want It That Way" singer's image and "extort" him financially, according to the court documents.
