
New York City fire at police evidence compound leaves 8 injured, including 6 first responders

At least eight people were injured at a New York Police Department evidence compound after it caught on fire. The injured included emergency personnel and civilians.
During a press conference Tuesday afternoon, Hodgens said FDNY responded to the fire call at the evidence warehouse, located at 700 Columbia St., at about 10:37 a.m. but were unable to swiftly extinguish it. "This fire is likely going to go on for a few days by the time we are able to fully extinguish it," Hodgens predicted. He also said the facility housed "a lot of combustible material."
