New Year's Eve forecast calls for severe storms, flooding and snow
CNN
As we ring in the New Year, severe storms could be hitting some of the same areas ravaged by tornadoes just two weeks ago.
Mother Nature will provide her own version of fireworks in the form of thunder and lightning, but it will be in addition to flooding, strong winds, and even possible tornadoes.
"Storms should develop late on Friday evening and last through the early afternoon on Saturday," the National Weather Service (NWS) office in Memphis said Thursday morning. "All modes of severe weather will be possible ... but I believe the bigger threat might lie with flooding."
