New restrictions in Kerala amid rise in Covid cases, classes 1 to 9 will have online lessons for two weeks

Among several decisions made in a high level meeting presided by Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, officials decided to implement online classes for students from Class 1 to 9 for two weeks from January 21.
New restrictions have been implemented in Kerala in the wake of rising Covid cases. Classes one to nine will have online classes, starting from January 21. After two weeks of online classes, a meeting will be held to decide on a possible extension. The decision was made at a high-level meeting presided over by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Several other decisions were also made at the meeting to curb the spread of Covid. If clusters form in educational institutions, the headmasters or principals will be given authority to shut down the school for a few weeks.
