Nets set to make California return for training camp
NY Post
The Nets are going back to Cali — at least for training camp.
Brooklyn — which will play the Clippers in the preseason — will hold part of the camp in Southern California, as it did three years ago.
That Oct. 8 tilt will be at Frontwave Arena, home of the Clippers’ G League San Diego affiliate.
The last time the Nets held camp in SoCal was back in 2021 when the Big Three of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden had their initial camp together.
The Nets had started camp at HSS Training Center in Brooklyn, moved on to La Jolla — near the home of team owner Joe Tsai — and returned to New York with Irving barred from playing or even practicing at home due to his refusal to adhere to the city’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
Nets point guard Dennis Schroder — who became the first-ever black Olympic flag bearer for Germany at Friday’s Opening Ceremonies in Paris — will lead his country against Japan in its opener on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. ET.

SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.
