National highway in Jalore doubles up as Air Force emergency landing base, work on over 20 strips to start soon

The IAF on Thursday carried out a demonstration on its emergency landing facility on NH-925 in Jalore, Rajasthan, which was inaugurated by Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari.
Forty kilometres from the border with Pakistan, Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jets -- transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) -- landed on a national highway that doubles up as an emergency landing field. The IAF on Thursday carried out a demonstration on NH-925, at Gandhav Bhakasar section in Rajasthan’s Jalore, of how it would operate from the airstrip during a military emergency.More Related News
