Naseeruddin Shah had a complicated relationship with Dilip Kumar. On Tuesday Trivia
India Today
Naseeruddin Shah once revealed that as a kid he was allowed to only watch Hindi films of Dilip Kumar. This resulted in his 'ambivalent relationship' with the legendary actor.
Naseeruddin Shah, mourning the death of Dilip Kumar recently, said that the Devdas actor didn't do enough for Indian cinema, apart from acting. Naseeruddin Shah's critique albeit ruffled some feathers, but such was the relationship between him and Dilip Sa'ab - something Shah himself describes as an 'ambivalent relationship'. Why ambivalent? Well, on one hand, we have Shah admitting that Dilip Kumar's contribution to Indian cinema wasn't much, and on the other is the confession that the only Hindi films Shah was allowed to watch growing up were Dilip Kumar's, thanks to his father. Interesting, isn't it? On the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awardee Naseeruddin Shah's 71st birthday today, we dedicate our Tuesday Trivia to this interesting anecdote.More Related News
