
NASA's JPL and DHS develop tech to help locate firefighters inside burning buildings

NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) have teamed up to create technology that will help locate firefighters inside buildings.
The idea was conceptualized in 2014 and the technology is now being matured for use around the country, according to a NASA release. Notably, POINTER uses magnetoquasistatic (MQS) fields instead of radio waves.More Related News
