Tribune News NetworkDohaAl Marroona Stud’s Nabeel Al Rayyan and Al Nawasi Stud’s Safira Al Dohul were adjudged as the Gold Stallion Champion and Gold Mare Champion respectively as the 6th Qatar National Arabian Peninsula Horse Show for Individual Owners concluded successfully at the Longines Indoor Arena at Al Shaqab on Tuesday.The two-day event saw almost 200 entries.Al Marroona Stud’s Nabeel Al Rayyan was adjudged the gold champion in the Senior Stallions Championship, sponsored by The Social & Sport Contribution Fund (Daam).Winner of Class 11 for 7+yo Stallions earlier on Tuesday, the grey horse amassed 23 points for a win in the final round of the two-day event. Three-time Qatar National Arabian Peninsula Horse Show champion Mountasser Laffan, owned by Jassim Kayed Al Muhannadi, third behind Nabeel AL Rayyan in Class 11, won silver with 9 points. Abdulla Saed Al Hajri’s Masrour Al Waab and Jabor Nasser Sultan Tawar Al Kuwari’s Sultan Al Rayyan were both locked at 6 points in the championship round. However, the former’s better class score when he topped qualifying Class 10 for 4-6yo Stallions earlier in the day, slotted him for bronze ahead of Sultan Al Rayyan. Ahmed Salem Al Ali, Director of Programs of Daam, crowned the winners of the round.Gold champion at the 23rd Qatar National Arabian Horse Show in January 2021, Al Nawasi Stud’s Safira Al Dohul added yet another championship gold to her resume winning the Senior Mares Championship. With 16 points, including three nominations for gold, saw the grey mare, also topper of Class 8 for 7-10yo, take the win in the medal round. Class 8 runner up, Al Hazm Stud’s Al Johara Al Waab, finished runner up in the championship round too, with winner of Class 7A for 4-6yo Mares from earlier in the day, Abdulla Saed Mohammed Al Hajri’s Shahrazad taking bronze. HE Sheikh Nawaf Bin Nasser Al Thani crowned the winners of the round.In the day’s first championship round, Nasser Abdulla Al Mansouri’s Dhuha Al Waab won the Yearling Fillies Championship gold with 21 points, including four nominations for the victory. Al Sraiya Stud’s Mayhoola Alsraiya took silver with 15 points, while Ghanim Mohammed Al Khayareen’s Shaikha Alshwa won bronze with 9 points. Winners of the championship were awarded by Saad Ali Al Kubaisi, Deputy Head of QREC Arabian Horse Show Section.Ebrahim Bin Yousef Al Romaihi’s Mutbahi Al Waab was the gold winner in the Yearling Colts Championship after a near-unanimous decision among the seven judges, with six of them adjudging the grey colt for the win. Nasser Abdulla Al Mansouri’s Egaab Al Ahazm won the silver with 10 points, in front of Nasser Mohammed Al Hajri’s Turky Umm Aludham (6 points).In the Junior Fillies Championship, Al Sraiya Stud’s Rayana Alsraiya won gold with 21 points after four judges marked the grey filly for the win. In a close finish, Al Jaham Stud’s Bedayat Ibn Salamah took silver, after three judges marked her for the win. Abdulla Jassim Al Buainain’s Farha Ainain completed the top three with 7 points. Omran Mohammed Darwish, QREC PR & External Communication Director, presented the trophies to the winners of the round.Junior Colts Championship saw the medal winners bunched together in a close result with all three receiving two nominations each for the win. However, with Mohamed Jassim Al Kuwari’s Auf Al Shaqab receiving points from all the judges for either runner up or third place nominations, the grey colt won with 16 points. Jathab Arabians’ Laheeb Jathab won silver with 14 points, while Al Salleh Almarri’s Hadban Al Furat took bronze with 12 points. Winners of the round were awarded by Rashid Al Kaabi, Al Sraiya Stud Owner.Earlier on Tuesday, Class 7B for 4-6yo Mares was topped by Nasser Abdulla Al Mansouri’s Haouayel Al Shaqab with 93.10 points, while Mohamed Jassim Al Kuwari’s Asmaa Juhayna (92.50) and Nema Al Waab (92.40) finished second and third respectively.In Class 9 for 11+yo Mares, Abdulla Salem Al Hajri’s Salomeh took the victory with 92.60 points, while Mohammed Hamad Alkaabi’s Magidaas Prevue RCA (91.10) and Al Nawasi Stud’s DHS Aisha (90.60) finished second and third respectively.
