Local trains, metro and monorail in Mumbai are only for the use of frontline workers and govt staff for now since Covid-19 is still spreading, Maharashtra govt's counsel told the HC hearing a plea filed by the Cooperative Banks Employees Union.
The Maharashtra government today told the Bombay High Court that local trains, metro and monorail in Mumbai are only for frontline workers and government employees. These services cannot be relaxed at this juncture as new cases of Covid-19 are still being reported, said the state govt's counsel. The court was hearing a plea by Cooperative Banks Employees Union (CBEU), seeking permission to use these services. Restrictions in place in the state to break the chain of transmission prohibit non-essential workers from making use of these services.More Related News
