Mumbai: BMC likely to extend deadline for Covid vaccine global tender, no bids so far

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation may extend the deadline for its Covid-19 global vaccine tender. While May 18 is the last date to submit bids as of now, there have been no bidders so far.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) may have to extend the deadline to receive responses to its global tender for Covid-19 vaccines. The deadline currently is May 18. However, as of Monday afternoon, the civic body had not received a single bid. On May 12, BMC had floated a global tender for procurement of 1 crore (10 million) vaccine doses. BMC is the richest civic body in India. As per the tender document, those interested were to send their queries, if any, by May 16. The BMC did not receive a single query from an interested party.
