Video obtained and verified by CNN shows smoke and explosions in Caracas early on Saturday morning. Carlos, 25, who took this footage from his home in Caracas, said he “heard an airplane very close” and that he “saw the explosions” outside his window. The smoke, coupled with an orange glow, appears to be rising from the vicinity of Fort Tiuna, where the Venezuela Ministry of Defense is headquartered. The first blast was recorded at approximately 1.50am local time (0.50aET). “One was so strong, my window was shaking after it,” CNNE correspondent Osmary Hernandez said.
