Multiple collision on new ROB in Sivakasi claims one life
In a case of multiple collision involving a bus, cargo auto and a truck, driver of the auto was killed on the newly-inaugurated road over bridge in Satchiyapuram on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Karuppasamy, 50, of Subramaniyapuram Colony.
The police said that the bus that was coming from Sriviliputtur and proceeding towards Sivakasi was speeding and it came to the extreme right blocking the opposite lane.
In the melee, the bus hit the autorickshaw and then the truck that was following the autorickshaw.
The acident led to traffic congestion in the town for nearly an hour.
The police have registered a case and picked up the bus driver, Karuppasamy, 30, for enquiry.
