MUDA case: Bengaluru special court accepts ‘B’ report filed by Lokayukta police giving clean chit to Siddaramaiah and wife Parvathi

Bengaluru court accepts Lokayukta's 'B' report, clearing CM Siddaramaiah and wife Parvathi of corruption allegations in MUDA case.

In a major relief to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, a special court in Bengaluru on January 28, 2026, accepted the ‘B’ report filed by the Karnataka Lokayukta police, giving clean chit to him and his wife B.M. Parvathi on complaint of allegation of illegalities and corruption in allotment of 14 sites worth ₹56 crore to Ms. Parvathi by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).

Santosh Gajanan Bhat, the judge of the Special Court of Sessions for Criminal Cases against former and present MPs and MLAs delivered the verdict while rejecting the protest petition filed by complainant Snehamayi Krishna, a Mysuru-based social activist, who had questioned the outcome of the investigation conducted by the Lokayukta police.

The Karnataka Governor on August 19, 2024, had granted approval under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act, 1988, for conduct of investigation against Mr. Siddaramaiah. On September 24, 2024, the High Court of Karnataka had not only upheld the approval given by the Governor but had also said that investigation is essential on the allegations made in Mr. Krishna’s complaint.

Following this, the special court on September 25, 2024, had directed the Superintendent of Police, Lokayukta police, Mysuru to register a First Information Report (FIR) against Mr. Siddaramaiah and others and conduct investigation into the allegations and submit a report to the court.

Investigation against other accused to be continued, the court said.
