Member of Parliament Jagadish Shettar has called the State Budget an ‘anti-people Budget’. The 16th Budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has shown that the State is bankrupt.
The government is struggling to allocate funds for the projects announced earlier. It has failed to implement the guarantee schemes properly. Farmers, women, the poor and the middle class are suffering. North Karnataka has been completely neglected. Mr. Siddaramaiah, who considered himself an economic expert, has derailed the State’s finances. No one can be satisfied with this Budget. It only presents old schemes as new, he said
“Injustice has been done to the Hindus, and Muslim appeasement policies are being practiced. No major grant has been announced for irrigation. The CM has not kept his word of releasing ₹10,000 crore to Krishna basin projects. He has taken huge loans. The Budget insults the memory of D.M. Nanjundappa whose report on correcting regional imbalance has not been implemented,” he lamented.
