It all began during the swimming classes. While their children trained in the pool, the mothers bonded over a range of topics: from therapy sessions to tantrums thrown by children. That is how four mothers of children with autism came together to start Sangamitra Foundation.
The voluntary organisation (registered) has Annapoorni Ramakrishnan, Jisha Rajesh, Devaki Balaji, Grace Santosh and sports coach Satish Kumar as trustees.
The idea to do something together was conceived more than two years ago but due to the pandemic the plan did not take off.

JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru hosted a stakeholder briefing under the IMPACT-VIP programme, a Japan-India collaboration supported by JICA, on January 19. The session brought together government, international partners and representatives of the visually-impaired community to address one central issue: how people with visual impairment manage medicines safely in everyday life.
