Monsoon evades Delhi as lightning claims over 60 lives across India; heavy rain in Mumbai, Kerala

Parts of India, including Maharashtra and Kerala, will receive heavy downpours even as the southwest monsoon rain continues to evade Delhi and Haryana.

With the onset of the southwest monsoon, parts of the country are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rains over the next few days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said it is continuously monitoring the progress of the monsoon in the remaining parts of the country. Heavy downpours continue in parts of Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. The weather agency predicted the rain to cover Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and some parts of West Bengal.
