Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI), in cooperation with the Center for Empowerment and Care of the Elderly (Ehsan), organized an awareness workshop for the center's members as part of its efforts to promote consumer rights awareness and encourage responsible purchasing practices.

The ministry stated that the workshop was held as part of its commitment to informing participants of their consumer rights and providing them with essential information to help them make informed purchasing decisions.

The workshop included a presentation by the Ministry's consumer affairs section, along with a detailed explanation of consumer rights outlined in Law No. (8) of 2008 on Consumer Protection and its executive regulations. It also highlighted key obligations of suppliers and regulations governing goods and services.

The workshop focused on promoting sound consumer behavior, including how to select products safely and appropriately, the importance of thoughtful decision-making before purchasing, and identifying potential risks by understanding hazardous products or improper use.

Participants were also guided on how to address issues they may encounter when purchasing goods or using services, as well as the mechanisms for filing complaints with the relevant authorities.
