Mob sets police car on fire in UP's Auraiya after teacher beats Class 10 boy to death

Amid the hue and cry over Nikhil's death, enraged local residents protested against the injustice and pelted stones at the police vehicles and forces.
The death of a class 10th student after being thrashed by his school teacher in Uttar Pradesh triggered public outrage in the area. The incident relates to Auraiya city and the victim, identified as Nikhil Dohre, hailed from the Dalit community.
Sources said that the pupil was beaten on the school premises over a mistake in the examination that he was taking. He was beaten up by his social science teacher on September 7.
Amid the hue and cry over Nikhil's death, enraged local residents protested against the injustice and pelted stones at the police vehicles and forces. They even set fire to police vehicles in the area.
His health deteriorated after the incident and he was being treated in a hospital. The minor was admitted to the hospital and the concerned teacher contributed to his medical treatment.
On September 24, Nikhil’s father, Raju Dohre, registered a case in the Achhalda police station against the teacher for not cooperating in the treatment and for using caste-indicative abusive words.
Nikhil died during treatment.
