Ministry launches summer events for youth

The Ministry of Sports and Youth announced during a press conference Monday the launch of summer events that include multiple activities and sport programs in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and in coordination with various age categories. The events intend to invest the time of youth and offering them the opportunities to practice their hobbies under the supervision of trainers and professionals. Director of Public Relations & Communications Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Omar Al Yafei said in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that there is a joint and constant cooperation between the Ministries of Education and Sports and Youth in the framework of youth talents upgradation and development, indicating that the Ministry of Education has already utilized the sports clubs facilities to further organize events and activities dedicated to schools students. He called on the students' parents to involve their sons in the entire events and activities carried out by the Ministry of Sports & Youth during the summer vacation in addition to investing their times for their benefits. In addition, Head of Youth Centers Department at the Ministry of Sports and Youth Fawaz Abdullah Al Misufri said in a similar statement to (QNA) that the Ministry of Education and Higher Education is considered a strategic partner for the Ministry of Sports & Youth in holding numerous events and most essentially those which contribute to developing Qatar national policy for youth, in addition to organizing schools robot events through Qatar Scientific Club, adding that the cooperation is ongoing between the two ministries during the second phase of summer activity which is scheduled to be kicked off after Eid al-Adha Holiday in 35 youth institutions, including youth centers and clubs. Al Misufri indicated that the program is punctuated by the celebration of Arab Youth Day which will be commemorated tomorrow, in addition to the celebration of World Youth Day (WYD) which will be held on Aug. 12, 2022. He implored the youth and students to join these events and have a glimpse of all other summer events and activities held by Youth Centers Department via Shabab Al-Adaam application through which all events and activities are reviewed. He also urged the youth to expeditiously register their names in General Assembly of the Qatar Youth Council via the same application or alternatively visit the premises of the council in Al Sadd Sports Club.
