Minister Rajendran urges BDOs to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply in Salem district during summer.
Minister for Tourism R. Rajendran has instructed the Block Development Officers (BDOs) to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply in Salem district during summer.
The Minister participated in a review meeting with the BDOs regarding the schemes implemented by the Rural Development Department in the district.
The Minister said at the meeting that as summer has started, officials should give importance to drinking water, ensure uninterrupted supply and monitor it. They should take precautionary measures considering future drinking water demands. Regular inspections will be conducted to ensure drinking water is supplied to the public.
He also said the officials concerned should give special attention to implementation of the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme and Nutritional Meal Scheme and conduct inspections in schools. If any repairs are found in school buildings, they should be rectified without delay, and new classrooms should be constructed based on need.
