Pop, rock, and country star Miley Cyrus was initially known for her success as a child actor in Disney channel TV show "Hannah Montana." She has since made a huge impact on Hollywood.

Tennessee native Miley Cyrus was born in 1992 as Destiny Hope Cyrus. In 2008, she legally changed her name to Miley Ray Cyrus. The teen lived a double life as high school student and pop star. Her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, played her TV dad, Robby Stewart. The show saw major success and skyrocketed Miley's music and acting career. She released album "Hannah Montana" and sold three million copies in 2007. (Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic, Inc) The "Best of Both Worlds" singer released another "Hannah Montana" album in 2007 titled "Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus." She went on tour that same year. In 2009, she starred again as the pop singer in "Hannah Montana: The Movie" and released six total albums throughout the show's lifetime. (DISNEY CHANNEL/BOB D'AMICO) In 2009, Cyrus filmed romantic drama "The Last Song" alongside Australian co-star Liam Hemsworth. Following dating rumors, the pair attended the Oscars hand-in-hand in 2010 and confirmed their relationship. Cyrus and Hemsworth got engaged in 2012 and broke it off shortly after in 2013. (Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic) Beginning in 2013, Miley Cyrus made headlines on a regular basis due to her new image and controversial behavior both on and off stage. She released her album "Bangerz" that same year. The album's dance-pop, R and B sound helped transition Cyrus from youthful pop star to mega Hollywood star. The single "Wrecking Ball" from the album topped charts and she won "Top Streaming Song" at the Billboard Music Awards in 2014. (Gilbert Carrasquillo/FilmMagic) In 2016, Miley was seen wearing her engagement ring again. She confirmed her re-engagement to Liam Hemsworth on The Ellen Show. The singer released her song "Malibu" in 2017 which she later revealed was written about Hemsworth. The pair wed in 2018 during a secret ceremony with only close family. The couple finalized their divorce in January 2020. (Dia Dipasupil/FilmMagic) Miley Cyrus is photographed with her mother, Tish Cyrus, and her father, Billy Ray Cyrus. Tish and Billy were married for nearly 30 years before Tish filed for divorce for the third time in 2022. Miley has five siblings which include Brandi Glenn Cyrus, Trace Dempsey Cyrus, Christopher Cody Cyrus, Braison Chance Cyrus, and Noah Lindsey Cyrus. In addition to pop, country, and hip-hop, she released a rock album "Plastic Hearts" in 2020. (Alberto E. Some of her most well-known faux pas include cyberbullying Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, pole dancing at the Teen Choice Awards in 2009, and twerking on Robin Thicke at the VMAs in 2013.
