The Department of Meteorology on Sunday said weather charts indicate the continuation of mild weather during the day and relatively cold to cold weather over some areas by evening in the country. There will be fresh to strong northwesterly wind during Sunday and the next two days with expected speed ranging from 14-24ktin general with gusts of speed up to 30kt in some areas. The wind may lead to blowing dust and reduced horizontal visibility up to 3km at times, especially in open areas. It is also expected that offshore, strong winds and high seas will continue until Wednesday, with waves range between 4-9ft, exceeding 12ft at times. The Meteorological Department urged all to take precaution and follow the latest weather updates through its official accounts.
