Mike Vrabel’s top NFL coaching choice revealed –– but there’s a catch
NY Post
Mike Vrabel has his eyes set on one job.
But that position may not be open and is held by a former teammate.
Vrabel “wants” the Patriots’ head coaching job but team owner Robert Kraft “seems intent” on retaining struggling first-year head coach Jerod Mayo, sources told SportsKeeda’s Tony Pauline.
Mayo and Vrabel played together in Foxborough for one season.
Vrabel, the former Titans coach, will be one of the top coaches in this year’s cycle, seemingly setting up as the No. 2 option behind Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson.
The Jets, Saints and Bears jobs are all open while interim coaches finish out the season.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
