Michigan Gov. Whitmer kidnapping plot: Co-leader gets 16 years in prison
Fox News
Adam Fox, who was convicted of conspiracy charges in the foiled plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, has been sentenced Wednesday.
Judge Robert J. Jonker said that while Fox’s sentence was needed as a punishment and deterrent to future similar acts, the government’s request for life in prison is "not necessary to achieve those purposes." Greg Norman is a reporter at Fox News Digital.
The sentencing comes less than two weeks after three other men who were found guilty of backing the 2020 plot were sentenced.
Pete Musico, who along with Joe Morrison and Paul Bellar was convicted of providing material support for a terrorist act, as well as two other crimes, were sentenced on Dec. 15 to a minimum of 12 years in prison. Morrison received a minimum of 10 years, while Bellar was sentenced to a minimum of seven.
