Michael K. Williams met with NYPD commissioner about a 'collaboration' before his death

Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said Tuesday that he met earlier this year with actor Michael K. Williams — who died this week of a suspected heroin overdose — and discussed efforts to “collaborate” with the NYPD.

He described Williams’ death as "very sad."  "And I say that from someone that spoke to and met Michael earlier this year," the commissioner said. "Just such a tragic case … where, you know somebody in his prime of his life, really tremendous … great person."
